Welcome to Eleasia

Introduction

Firstly, we would like to thank you for stopping by our little site. Eleasia has been under construction as a fantasy world since mid-2000 and has yet to be finished even now. Our creator, when not working on art commissions and sleeping, puts in much time deigning things for Eleasia, and then translating them from the setting of her novels to a viable online RP experience.

We apologise deeply for the patched together state it's all in right now. Malloriel is designing the CSS code, and while she has made some compromises, learning as she goes, she says that designing in notepad is worlds different from applying it to a pre-existing page. For a moment there we weren't even sure the code was going to take and that this site would have been utterly deconstructed (and us without our previous designer). Have no fear, though, bit by bit the site will change over to the sparkly, foresty layout you see here today.

Now, since we are still deeply under construction, CSS change over aside, there are still many broken links. The author works, as we said, quite frequently on new information, but not all of it fits together at any given time until she sits down and makes the individual connections. Until that happens, we have no new (cohesive) information to give you. That doesn't mean there isn't information to be had, of course, just that several of the links may only lead to a temporary page.

As a final addition to this completely OOC prologue to the introduction, we ask that any and all questions be sent to Malloriel, whether it be about race, magic, character creation, the site, or CSS coding. There may still be two e-mail addresses floating about other pages, hidden in the text, but as old pages are turned over to the new format they should all be caught and fixed.

So enjoy what you can, and we hope you look forward to learning more.

Human mages, Avatars, maiyenin, and even amalayel; in Aliandra, the streets are filled with them. Now, among the smaller villages in the far reaches of Belia, Sambrisel, and Delinia, you may find clusters of humans untainted by the other races; in Tessinae, tentative trade with the neighboring amalayel—the Varalaco of Gaerthon Hisg to the South, and across the Morshana, the Talimure of Vistanis Estula. These mortals and amalayel do not commingle, there however.

The maiyenin keep their cities secret, no fear of losing the purity of their kind to mortal taint there, and dragons and their Avatars roam the land that has always been theirs, which, old and established as they are, has never ceased to be “everywhere”, making it hard to find any one in particular at any given time for a seeker not already of their most ancient, and sacred blood.

Borders and spheres of influence define the "Land United", Eleasia, yet in Aliandra an accord has been found. In the Dorosai’s city, Shaelyn, from their sacred rivers, dance for human farmers without a thought to race or creed, Avatars make regular appearances in your average pub or inn, and half-breed off-spring, young and old, pepper the whole city over. There is even rumor of one or two Varalaco from Gaerthon Hess (the second of their kingdoms) adopted into the Dorosai's own elite guard. Despite the segregation that grips the world beyond Aliandra's own borders, acceptance infuses the city in the gentle Dorosai’s grace.

Not all who live here are happy, though, this much Dorosai Phae’ana, herself, can affirm. A shadow fell on the land the night her parents were killed, and though the shadow has lessened over the years, receding to far flung corners where shadows hide with ease, due largely to the efforts of her sister, the Dorai Adrastea, it has never released it's grip in the hearts of those who held it most dear. Chaos still prowls the midnight streets, searching for the High Rule's soft underbelly, waiting and preparing. The Awakening is at hand, they say, and not even the Gods have the power to stop the Chaos Child. For the sake of the world, I pray it isn't so."

-A passage from the journal of Teressa Farren.
